Sharing the road with buses

Royal Motoring School · 2 July 2026

Buses make frequent stops and need generous room to swing through Malta's tighter corners. Give them space, expect them to signal and pull out from stops, and never linger beside one at a corner — if you can't see the driver's mirror, they can't see you.

Getting stuck behind a bus costs less time than the risky overtake to escape it. Patience around big vehicles is a marked competency in your test and a survival skill afterwards.
